You don't know much about me :) but one thing I can tell you is
that I like to draw. It's one of the few concrete things that I do with my time, besides write, and I feel as if I have finally reached a "cartoon zenith", or gotten to the place where my drawings can be shared with the world because they're good enough. In other words, I've honed my skills to the point of being comfortable with where I'm at. I've also decided that they should convey a message, and that that message should be hope, and that that hope should be aimed at a sector of the population that desperately needs it: the homeless.
I've been attempting (sorry guys, I'm trying out stuff with the text color...) to figure out creative ways to distribute my art to people that might need some encouragement and cheer, and so far haven't come up with anything short of directly passing out copies of drawings to random homeless folk. This has worked well, as people have been very receptive, but I sense there is something else that can be done...so, I've decided to partner with a local church, and pass out my cartoons to people whilst dishing out food.
Now, I want to have direct contact with the community, none of this putting the drawings in a lunch bag business, so I'm going to talk to the parish about doing just that. Nothing's been solidified yet, as I just stopped by to drop off my card, tell them my idea and show them a pic, but it's in the works...and that's what's up. It's a snail's pace, but it's something, no?
Here's the one I dropped off, hope you like:
Ta!
